Hi there, we just wanted to let you know that we have moved over to:
Please join us there for future updates on what is happening at the print shop, classes, membership and printing! We have scheduled our first class, Introduction to T-Shirt Printing. Last Thursday was the first Detroit Future Media class at Ocelot Print Shop. For the next month and a half the DFM graphics class will be held at Ocelot. We have been really excited to have them here and share our space!! Ron, who teaches the Graphics as well as entrepreneur class at DFM has been a great resource and support for us while we have been in the planning and implementing stages, and now that we are close to being open!
The class working hard on their designs.
The class learned to coat and expose screens, and to wash them out, as well as prepare artwork for screens. This week they start printing! We are excited to see their projects come to life, and happy to be partnering with such a great organization.

Eat your greens!!
We are still moving and printing and getting ready for AMP to host their weekly graphics classes in the shop in May!
We won’t be open for membership and for regular shop hours until June 1st, but feel free to stop by and meet us or say hello. You can call 313-300-4663 to see if anyone is there to show you around.
Look out for our June 1st opening party , details are coming soon!
The ocelots have put down the brooms and picked up the hammers and build out has begun…..oooh but your dark room is so bright…the better to see you with
sure one wall does not a dark room make, but imagine another wall and an exposure unit and a coating table and the warm blue-black glow of the light source, perhaps a quiet humming as the ballasts do their job turning electricity into magic and then sending it through tubes and out into the micro-sphere and then compelling itself to burn another screen…can you imagine that? One of the things we bandied back and forth like an Olympic badminton shuttlecock was how big should the dark room be? you want to be able to move around without bumping(smashing) into things in the dark(relative)…if my calculations are correct we could accommodate an 80’s era Andy Warhol with a portable colour television and the third largest pear on record and still have room to burn a screen…

“Let’s print our wedding invitations, Honey!” Ocelot helps an innocent young couple get their hands right into the thick and dirty of DIY wedding preparation.
Like two pebbles in the depths of Superior….the invites are richly colored and awesome.
So we’re really moving all this stuff to 3535 Cass?
And presses and racks? I’m exhausted!
Coming soon: membership details and progress report on the move.
That is, business as the way we dream it.. Oh, yes. Allied Media Project has started their third season of Detroit Future Media program, training Detroit artists, entrepreneurs and educators in digital media skills. We are proud to be a part of their entrepreneurship program, making connections, delving into the whys and hows of our ideal socially and environmentally conscious business model, looking for our dream of being a sustainable, supportive, creative and all the way around awesome collective that can support itself and become a strong supportive presence in our community.
We keep our eyes on March as our move in month!
